Downloads for accompanying yourself on the recorder

The files on this page are in the form of a zip file which contain.

• An accompaniment, produced using noteworthy composer. (for playback info, see below.)
• a recorder part in *.pdf format for printing,
• A MIDI file of the complete piece

The accompaniment may be played back using the free noteworthy player or the noteworthy player browser plugin. These can be downloaded from the noteworthy website. The player displays the music on screen. The recorder part will need an acrobat reader, to enable you to open and print it. This is free, is widely available, often being included on software CD's (You may find a copy on a recent magazine CD). Alternatively, acrobat reader may be downloaded from the adobe website.

Note: Most of the pieces have had a 2 - 4 bar introduction added. This may not be authentic, but with no visual clues, an audible count in is needed and I prefer this to simply inserting a series of clicks. Most introductions are based on the closing few bars of the first section.
