Concert
Our concert on 26th April 2008 was a great success. We will be performing in concert again on Fri 3rd April 2009 at Nunthorpe Methodist church. This concert will be a joint event with Leigh Harrison's band and choir.
Workshop and Pastoral Visit
This was last held on 17th November, 2007 with Eileen Silcocks as conductor. The day was very successful with a healthy turnout both from our own and other branches. Further events are planned for the future.
SRP Annual Festival
The 2008 Festival was held in Weald of Kent School, Tonbridge, Kent on 19th and 20th April 2008.
The 2009 festival will be hosted by this branch. Details are available on the Festival Website.
Recorder Summer School
The Recorder Summer School is held annually in July. In 2007 the venue moved to Bishop Burton College near Beverley. The 2009 Summer School will be from Saturday, August 1st to Saturday, August 8th. Details may be found on the Recorder Summer School Website.
Scottish Recorder Festival
The annual Scottish Recorder festival is half day event organised by the Scottish Branches in rotation. The date of the 2008 Festival was Saturday 31st May 2008 at Ibrox Parish Church. Details of the 2009 Festival are yet to be announced. Further information may be found on the SRP website
Norvis
NORVIS Early Music summer school is held annually in Durham. Dates for 2009: Saturday 1st August to Saturday 8th August. Details may be found on the NORVIS website.
Folkworks
For those who like to play traditional music, Folkworks, based at the Sage, Gateshead, run a series of events and workshops including an Annual Summer School, a series of "Absolute Beginners'" days where you can try out a new instrument and a weekend workshop in October.
